Better because it's made better.

Most companies are building winches to hit a price.  "We need to be able to sell if for $399, $499, $999".  The price point always matters and trade-offs are made, almost always.

An exception is the Novawinch Pro and FENIX Series.  These winches are built, not to a price, but with a spec list.  We want THAT solenoid.  We want THAT drum.  We want THAT motor.  Why?

Because we're not like most winch companies.  We don't plan to make it up in volume - we've seen firsthand what that looks like from our old job. Our goal here is to provide the best winches (and with our over 100 years of combined winch manufacturing, we know what that looks like).

We're crazy about parts.  Specifically, the parts that made these two winches some of the most successful not just in the industry, but more importantly, in the field.  We insist on bigger motor wirings.  They insist on pricing.

We insist on thicker drums that can handle uneven tensions wrapping because sometimes that happens on the trail or on the worksite.

We insist on thicker gears that should perform better, have better engagement, and are build from cut steel rather than powdered metal.  All these have a cost and you typically see that twice: once at the cash register and then on the trail.
